Hi everyone. I am 20 years old and I have been suffering from mgd for over a year now. IG used to flare up a little bit but now it has been with me for a full year. I did hot compresses twice daily and tried various lubricating drops but my eyes would remain red and uncomfortable. I was then on doxycycline...

Cornea Specialist Verdict & a doxycycline question.
I went to a cornea specialist yesterday and he perscribed me doxycycline.
He said that b/c of lasik my tear film is just "out of whack" and that in time it will get better as it heals.
He told me to keep up with Restasis 1x a day.
Refreshe Optive every...

Plugs, Doxy, Azasite
Hi all!
Just went to my eye doctor. She seems to be as confused as I am as to why my eyes hurt. I'm currently on restasis, and it has helped maybe about 20%. She now suggests plugs. However, I have read not to do plugs until the inflammation has decreased. I'm pretty sure my eyes are...

my experience with blepharitis, lasik, chalazions and treatments
About me: 27 years old female with white sensitive skin. I have seborrheic dermatitis and maybe rosacea (doctors cannot decide on that one as the symptoms on my face are really mild). After Lasik, I got left with blepharitis and persistently dry eyes. I should also mention meibomian gland disorder with...

Rebound dryness after plug removal?
Hello,
I have had 4 puncta plugged for about a year and a half now. I had my eye biopsied and it revealed signifacant inflammation, indicating my pain is not a result of a problem with my tears. Recently, I went on doxy long term (3 months) which has improved my eyes much more than...

Swollen Eyelids, Inflamation
So almost 4 years post lasik and no improvement at all in dry eye. Tried all the usual suspects from sclerals to fish oil. One common theme I notice pretty much every morning is that my eyelids (particularly the upper lids) are puffy and swollen.
This obviously cannot be good for the...

long term use of doxycycline
Just wanted to post about my experiences regarding long term use of doxycycline in case anyone is considering this treatment. I was on doxy for approximately a year and a half. While I do think it helped my eyes, the last five months I experienced hypersensitivity - my skin was extremely dry and sensitive...
