Hi I joined this forum for advice and whether anyone has experienced sticky eyelids when they sleep whether it be during the day or at night. I often fall asleep during the day and wake up with my eyelids stuck together. I can open them by touching my eyelids along the lash line with my warm fingertips. At night I often get up about 3 times a night and the same happens. The problem is not too bad as I don't have pain and my eyes come clear in a short period of time. My glass prescription is strong and I have been seeing an opthalmologist who says I need cataract surgery. My eyes are deep set and he mentioned that my surgery will be tricky because of my eyes being deep set. The first couple of times I saw him he said my eyelids had inflammation and he was not going to operate. He put me on doxycycline for awhile and that has helped my inflammation. He has said he is now ready to operate. I am on spironolactone for heart management. I have mentioned my concern about my sticky eyelids. He passed the problem over by saying I will be getting an oily type eyedrop post surgery. I was hoping the doxycycline would fix the problem. I do not suffer from blurry vision. The glasses I have are a good script for long distant and reading. I have different glasses for computer use and they are good too. The cataracts are not currently affecting my lifestyle. My opthalmologist wants to remove my cataracts as soon as possible because the longer he leaves it, he says it will be harder to operate.
