  • Rheumatologists take much more extensive autoimmune tests than GPs, in case you want to look into that further one day.

    • Update, spoke with my Dr and he didn't have much feedback to provide aside from continuing warm compresses and to not look at it on a daily basis.
Seems odd to me that my eyes would be good one day and bad the next. Anyhow today is better. Right eye doing good, left eye struggling a bit. I noticed that when I express my glands with my fingers (pushing upwards on my lower lid, vice versa, and hold for 5 sec) I get a bit of moisture.

I have some xiidra which can't hurt on the long run too.

Thanks for the update. Hope you get better. If you think your gland keep plugging, Doxy could be an option. I am not sure if you have Blepharitis or not but for my case, it helped me a bit.

        • I'll try to do gland expression with a Mastrota Paddle. I tried with a q-tip but it's far from ideal.

I just read about blepharitis. Do you think this could be my problem, and the reason why my glands would re-block quick? Should I try Blephex?

              How is your eyelid?
Are they inflamed? Especially upper one.
Do you feel that your eyelid are itchy?

doesnt particularily feel ithcy no. although sometime they stick a bit when I blink, and sometimes feel soar in the morning.

My lipiflow doc once told me there were debris accumulating quite fast after lipiflow on my lids.

I doubt that you have Blepharitis but it is hard to know. I am assuming you do not have any rashes on your face either right?
I would pay a visit to specialist and particularly ask them to check Blepharitis.

                  • I do have plugs. I don't understand how my glands got blocked again (potentially) in only 2 weeks. I am wondering if my lids arent full of debris due ot bacteria?

                    • If that is the case Oral Doxy should help. Although, It takes a few months.

                          • So Ebi, I have a theory about the partial blink. I believe corneal sensation/pain effects your ability to blink. For example, I injured my cornea, and I continue to sleep eyes open partially. What’s interesting is the left eye, for whatever reason, is shutting pretty well. So my cornea in that side feels pretty good, no gritty, sandpaper feeling. So the cornea is much healthier, so is my blink on that side. On my right side, for whatever reason I’m still trying to figure out, my blink is poor. I’d almost call my lid partially paralyzed on the right side. It perpetuates this cycle...the eye doesn’t shut well, the inflammation and pain cause the lid to malfunction, which makes it hard to blink and keep eyes closed at night...vicious cycle.

i have no clue how I broke that cycle in the left eye. It was my worse eye for most of this injury. There’s only two things different...the left eye had a debridement, and I had a 10 day course of moxifloxacin after a few erosions, that’s it. I’m almost tempted to run the antibiotic in the right eye and see if it helps. As I sit here, my left eye feels pretty normal, the right eye feels sore, pressure and burning. I’m going to take them shut again, forever if need be. It’s the only ting helping me heal...and the steroids of course.

i hope you can get on some serum and get some more comfort soon. Doxy only took 3 weeks to work for me and I started producing clear oil from my glands. That’s was 100mg 2x a day monohydrate tablets. I HATE the capsules, they destroy my stomach. The serum felt good immediately but I didn’t notice much until I went up to 50% concentration and that took 4-6 weeks to really see a difference.

Only using a q-tip with water that I rub on my lids. I'm assuming this isn't sufficient. But then again if I had Blepharitis and those type of bacteria my Dr would have noticed that.

However I remember when I did lipiflow, on my 2-week checkup the Dr was surprise at how much debris there was on my lids, and told me to do the q-tip thing every 2 days.

                              • Something I don't understand about lid scrubs: thos clean the OUTSIDE of lids. How does that help when bacterias form on top of your gland (INSIDE of lid/lashes)
